Wix is one of the best-known website builders, and it's where a lot of small businesses get their first website. But what do those websites actually look like once they're out in the world? Are they kept up to date? Do they publish a way to get in touch? Where are they, and what kind of businesses run them?
This page answers those questions from the Wix websites in the Dozif database. Every number below is pulled live and refreshed each hour, so it's always current.

About this data
These figures describe the Wix sites in the Dozif database, not every Wix site on the internet. We find business websites from a range of public sources and check each one directly, so treat the numbers as a large sample rather than a census. The percentages are more useful than the totals.
How many Wix sites look neglected?
The clearest sign that nobody is looking after a website is an old copyright year in the footer. Of the Wix sites we've checked, 29% show a footer year that's at least two years old, which is 194 sites.
Speed is the other common issue. 70% of Wix sites took more than 3 seconds to respond when we checked.
Do Wix businesses publish contact details?
65% of the Wix sites in our database publish an email address on their website, and 423 of those addresses are on a domain that's set up to receive mail.
Where are Wix sites based?
Country comes from the business's postal address, domain, phone number and page language, so it isn't known for every site.
What kinds of businesses use Wix?
How does Wix compare with other builders?
| Technology | Websites | Publish an email | Outdated © year | Avg. score |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Webflow | 5,635 | 7% | 7% | 27 |
| Wix | 658 | 65% | 29% | 35 |
| Squarespace | 356 | 62% | 7% | 34 |
| GoDaddy Builder | 273 | 33% | 16% | 25 |
| 68 | 54% | 1% | 31 |
At the time of writing, Wix has the highest share of sites with an outdated footer among the major builders in our data. That fits how many people use it: build the site once, then get back to running the business.
What this means if you build websites
Wix owners are often not technical and rarely go looking for a designer, but many of them know their site could be better. A short, specific message about something on their site, like an old footer year or a slow homepage, is often welcome. Our guide to Wix sites that have outgrown their builder covers how to approach them.
